Photography Exhibition and Live Arabic Music (Oud and Tabla)
The MEI Art Gallery is free and open to the public.
Louder Than Hearts: Women Photographers from the Arab World and Iran.
The exhibition explores the work of ten women photographers who capture the resilience, creativity and humanity of women in the Middle East region, often in the face of great adversity. Curated by Rania Matar, and presented in partnership with Tribe, a non-profit publication and platform dedicated to photography, film and video from the Arab world.
The exhibit is on view for Art All Night 2024 September 28th 7-11PM through January 10, 2025. Normal gallery hours are M-F from 10:00am - 5:00pm.
Live Music from the Middle East: The featured musicians will present a rich tapestry of Arabic music from Lebanon, Iraq and Syria and more.
There will be two 45-minute segments: 8:00 PM-8:45 PM, 9:15 PM-10:00 PM
With featured musicians:
Laith AlAttar is an Arab-American established composer, vocalist, and oud player.
Ali Bandeali is a percussionist specializing in Middle Eastern and orchestral instruments.
